Woman Rescued After Being Trapped In Overturned Car On Long Island

Members of the Islip Fire Department helped rescue a woman who was trapped in her car after crashing and overturning her vehicle.

Crews from the department responded to a stretch of Saxon Avenue between Geneva Street and Finchburg Street in Slip shortly before 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, where there was a report of a crash.

Upon arrival, firefighters found that a woman was inside the vehicle, which was on its roof, and trapped inside.

Crews worked quickly to extricate the driver, who was transported to Southside Hospital for treatment on non-life-threatening injuries.
